Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 28, 2026
This policy describes what information is handled when you read vicfallscarnival.com, how the operator uses it and what choices you have. The operator is the person or organisation running this blog about music festivals, Victoria Falls and Zambia travel. When this policy says we or us, it means that operator.
Visit logs
The servers that deliver our pages record routine technical details of each request. An entry may include your IP address, the time of the visit, the page you opened, your browser and device type and the page that sent you here. We use these logs to keep the blog available, to investigate errors and abuse and to see in general terms whether a festival guide or a falls guide is getting read.
Cookies and similar tools
Pages here can store small files in your browser or use similar technology. Some make pages load correctly. Others, where switched on, count audiences, remember a setting, serve advertising or note that a visitor arrived from a link here before visiting a ticket seller, lodging site or tour listing, so that affiliate attribution works. Cookies placed by outside services are governed by those services’ own notices.
Controlling tracking in your browser
You can block or clear cookies, browse privately or add tools that limit trackers. Where your browser sends a global privacy or do-not-track signal and our analytics or ad tools can read it, we treat it as a request to opt out. Be aware that blocking some cookies may change how embedded maps or videos about the falls behave.
Emails you send
When you write to [email protected], we receive your address and anything you add. That information lets us reply, fix a festival or travel article and remember what was already discussed. We do not sell what you send and will not publish it without asking. Travel plans are personal, so please leave out passport numbers, booking references and payment details.
Newsletters and forms
If a sign-up form or newsletter is offered, what you enter is used for that purpose, such as sending festival and travel updates you asked for. Every issue will include a way to opt out, and an email asking us to take you off the list works too.
Outside services we rely on
Publishing a travel blog involves other providers. They can include hosting and content delivery, analytics, advertising and affiliate networks, and embedded material such as video, maps or social posts about festivals. These providers may receive technical data about your visit so their service can function, and they handle it under their own privacy notices.
How long data is kept
Visit logs are stored for a short period, after which they are erased or boiled down to counts that identify nobody. Emails are kept while they help us reply, fix an article or meet a legal duty, and are removed once that need ends. Analytics data is kept according to the settings of the tool in use.
Asking about your information
Depending on where you live, you may be able to ask what personal information we hold about you, have it corrected or erased, object to certain uses or withdraw consent you gave. To make a request, email [email protected] and say what you would like. We may ask for proof it is you, and we will respond within the period the applicable law sets.
Younger readers
Vicfallscarnival is aimed at adults planning trips and festival weekends, and it is not meant for anyone under 13. We have no wish to gather personal details from young children. Should a guardian discover that a youngster has sent a message through the contact address, a short note to us will get that correspondence deleted.
Keeping information safe
We take reasonable steps to protect what we hold, such as using encrypted connections and limiting access to the inbox. No online storage or transmission is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute safety.
Data crossing borders
Because readers visit from many countries and our providers operate internationally, data about your visit may be processed in places with different rules from your own. Using the blog from anywhere means you understand that this cross-border handling can happen.
Updates to this policy
We may revise this policy when the blog, its tools or the law change. The effective date above shows when this version began, and continuing to use the blog after a revision means you accept it.
